Jackson Heights is a dizzyingly multicultural and international neighborhood, even by Queens standards. This bustling urban melting pot consists of many ethnic populations, especially Latin-Americans, multi-generational Europeans, and Asian-Americans.
Just below the rattling 7-Train runs Roosevelt Avenue, a perfect strip to stroll along and experience the international atmosphere of Jackson Heights. At the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street, you will find “Little India”. Here you can buy CDs of Indian pop stars, Bollywood DVDs, spices and gold jewelry. Make sure to get some delicious Indian food in one of the cheap all-you-can-eat buffets.
