Union Square, Manhattan

Union Square is located at the southern tip of the Flatiron District, at the intersection of Broadway and 14th Street. Union Square is a historic square and important site of political and social activism, for example as a starting point for many political protests. Anti-war activists distributing peace literature can be found among crowds of young and hip people who are hanging out there. There is also a Greenmarket at Union Square where farmers sell their fruits, vegetables and other farm products.
